Following last week’s announcement of BIGSOUND’s First Nations Advisory Group, today we’re thrilled to announce the 2025 Programming Advisory Group; a cross-genre collective of music industry leaders, who will help shape the next evolution of Australia’s largest music conference and festival.
The collective will consult with BIGSOUND’s returning Music Festival Programmers, Casey O'Shaughnessy and Katie Rynne, and new Conference Programmers Cathy Oates and Niriko McLure, to create BIGSOUND 2025’s creative vision.
We’re thrilled to also welcome Nick Yates (How Good Enterprises), Nick Lupi (One Day Recordings), and Alastair Burns (Heartstop Music)—each of whom have helped launch and sustain some of the country’s most beloved acts. Shelley Liu, international agent and co-founder of Foreign Eco, also delivers the Boiler Room’s iconic events in Australia.
Together, this collective of advisors will guide BIGSOUND’s programming vision, ensuring the 2025 event amplifies underrepresented voices, uncovers future icons, and stays ahead of the cultural curve.
The announcement coincides with the news that BIGSOUND artist applications have been extended, with a new closing date of 16 April.
With alumni including Gang of Youths, Flume, Tash Sultana, Courtney Barnett, Thelma Plum, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Vera Blue, The Jungle Giants and many more, the event has become a rite of passage for Australian musicians breaking out onto the world stage.
