In 2018 Latin America posted the largest music revenue growth in the world for the fourth year running, according to the IFPI’s Global Music Report.
Total recorded music revenues were up by 16.8%, driven largely by a 39.3% increase in streaming revenue with web-access penetration in the region (as a percentage of the population) around 25 per cent higher than the rest-of-world average. Brazil, the largest market in Latin America, continued its upward trajectory, increasing by 15.4% and recording one of the highest rates of growth in digital in the top 10 markets (38.5%). Chile, Mexico and Colombia also saw notable gains, increasing by 16.3%, 14.7% and 9.0% respectively
