BIGSOUND TO PROVIDE UNMATCHED ARTIST DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES WITH DEDICATED ARTIST HUB

PRESENTED BY SPOTIFY

BIGSOUND, the Southern Hemisphere’s premier music conference and showcase festival running September 2-5, have partnered with Spotify to present an expanded BIGSOUND Artist Hub focusing on the professional development and wellbeing of showcasing artists.

Taking over Brunswick Street’s iconic BrewDog venue for the entirety of BIGSOUND week with essential artist services as well as hands-on workshops, panels, activations and networking opportunities from Community Music, Support Act, APRA AMCOS, American Apparel, Select Music and more- the BIGSOUND Artist Hub is an essential port of call for those looking to learn, connect, or simply escape from the hustle and bustle of Fortitude Valley during BIGSOUND week.

Head of Australian Operations at BrewDog, Calvin McDonald said the team are thrilled to provide a great space for talent across the music industry to connect.

Independent beer and music have always gone hand-in-hand, so it makes perfect sense for BrewDog to host this year’s Artist Hub,” said McDonald.

Across all three levels of BrewDog, the Artist Hub will host some of the industry’s most influential names, and provide essential artist services including quiet zones, refreshments, a Conversation Corner, and artist concierge.

The Artist Hub was born from QMusic’s commitment to ensuring a thriving, diverse and connected music industry - making BIGSOUND more than simply a place to be discovered,” explains QMusic and BIGSOUND CEO Kris Stewart

We want BIGSOUND to be more than just a showcase, we want to give our artists the tools and connections they need to build long-term, sustainable careers in music – which means going above and beyond to offer artist services you won’t find at any other festival.”

Minister for the Arts John-Paul Langbroek said BIGSOUND draws local and international music industry stakeholders to Queensland for a dynamic conference and festival program.

The BIGSOUND Artist Hub provides opportunities for live music artists, managers and other creatives to connect, exchange ideas and explore business opportunities vital to a sustainable industry,” Minister Langbroek said.

We’re proud to support QMusic and BIGSOUND to strengthen Queensland’s live music industry and grow the state’s reputation as an international music hub.”

Spotlighting their Turn Up AUS program, Spotify AU’s increased investment in the BIGSOUND Artist Hub will ensure artists are fed and taken care of with Spotify’s local Music Editors and, Artist and Label Partnerships Team hosting events, exclusive to BIGSOUND performers -from the official BIGSOUND Artist Welcome Event, to the marquee breakfasts presented by Spotify across Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 September.

Turn Up Aus is all about celebrating and championing Australian artists — and BIGSOUND is the perfect place to bring that to life,” said Artist and Label Partnerships Lead, Leah Harris.

We’re proud to support this year’s BIGSOUND Artist Hub, creating a space where artists feel welcomed, supported and inspired, while also offering workshops, events and opportunities that help them grow.

Whether it’s sharing insights, connecting artists with their peers, or simply providing a place to recharge, we’re here to help artists make the most of their BIGSOUND experience and take their next step on the global stage.”

The BIGSOUND Artist Hub welcomes dedicated panels hosted by Concord Music Publishing, Select Music, Support Act and Community Music; covering themes of A&R and sync, artist well-being and mental health, navigating the industry and career growth.

In a BIGSOUND first, American Apparel are offering artists the opportunity to sell merch. Available daily from the Fortitude Music Hall foyer, Fans will be able to select their favourite artist’s design to be printed on a t-shirt, with proceeds going directly to the artist themselves.

For the keys players, CASIO will install an interactive display of the CASIO PX-S700HM/Piano at the BIGSOUND Artist Hub and give artists the chance to walk away with their own special CASIO prize during the event.

The APRA AMCOS team have also come on board to present the most chaotic of trivia sessions, produced by the minds behind Not On Your Rider; while other fun artist mixers are set to be presented by the crews at BMI and QSIC. The BIGSOUND Artist Hub will be available to showcasing artists, with sessions open to conference delegates, for the full BIGSOUND event.
