BIGSOUND TEASES FINAL ROUND OF INDUSTRY HEAVYWEIGHTS AND HIGHLIGHT PANELS AHEAD OF OFFICIAL PROGRAM LAUNCH THIS WEDNESDAY

As the second half of 2025 gets underway, so does the final countdown towards BIGSOUND 2025!  

With the full schedule announcement for this year’s official Conference Program, Showcase and Special Events set to land this Wednesday 23 July, BIGSOUND are excited to announce a final round of exciting names from both the Australian and international music industries, now confirmed to share in the southern hemisphere’s biggest platform for live music discovery and connection.   

BIGSOUND’s commitment to fostering impactful discussion across themes of festivals, export, artist growth and development manifests in unmissable sessions across the entirety of the program.  

Representatives from international juggernauts including Rene Contreras (Goldenvoice), the curator of the Sonora Tent at Coachella; as well as Creation Collective’s Head of Talent & Touring for events and festivals throughout Asia and Australia, Andy Clayton. They join leading Australian heavyweights such as Australian music icon Richard Kingsmill, Laneway’s Festival Director Jessie Parker and Nat Waller (Head of ABC Music, ARIA Chair and CMA Board Member).

Minister for the Arts John-Paul Langbroek said the BIGSOUND conference has built an international reputation for connecting artists to new networks and markets and promoting the state’s contemporary live music industry.

“This year’s BIGSOUND program offers industry stakeholders the opportunity to explore key issues with local and international music experts and influence the future of live music in Queensland and beyond,” Minister Langbroek said.

“We’re proud to support QMusic and BIGSOUND to build markets, audiences and career development opportunities for Queensland artists and boost the state’s profile as a vibrant live music destination.”  

Australia’s Industry figureheads are threaded through the conference program, with Tuesday’s opening discussion “First Word: One Brilliant Thing” featuring Jaddan Comerford (CEO & Founder, UNIFIED Music Group), Josh Simons, (CEO, Vinyl Music Group) and Annabelle Herd (CEO, ARIA). This powerful meeting of minds are set to offer leading perspectives on where the Australian and international industries are heading. 

triple j will celebrate 50 years at BIGSOUND, featuring a dedicated panel examining the youth station’s pathways for discovery and exporting Australian music to the globe. They will bring back their highly popular servicing sessions where artists pitch their music directly to triple j programmers. Renowned DJ and Producer Nina Las Vegas celebrates 10 years of her groundbreaking Australian label, NLV Records with a panel of label partners who will relive the significant milestone in underground music innovation.
