In this yarn-style session, we will celebrate the evolution of First Nations R&B in so-called Australia, focussing on Blak Love not only as a source of resilience, creative innovation, and cultural continuity, but as an act of resistance. This session is part of an ongoing hybrid series commissioned by Munimba-ja to build a nation-wide community, inviting Mob to share personal experiences and reflections. Through open conversation, we’ll unpack Blak Love as a tool for defining First Nations R&B as a distinct sub-genre, map opportunities, address barriers, and strategise for the future—strengthening representation and self-determination for Blak voices in contemporary R&B.
