Crowbar Brisbane has officially reopened its doors in Fortitude Valley, breathing new life into the iconic 711 Ann Street site formerly home to The Zoo. Following the closure of the legendary live music venue in July 2024, the independent Crowbar brand—established in 2012—has stepped in to preserve and evolve the space’s legacy. Relaunched in November 2024, Crowbar Brisbane continues its commitment to showcasing punk, heavy, and alternative music with a raw industrial atmosphere, state-of-the-art sound, and a strong focus on supporting both local and touring talent. Enhancing the live music experience is the in-house kitchen, Ultimate Pig, which serves a menu of hearty American-style fare, from smashed burgers and pulled pork to fried chicken, mac ’n’ cheese, and loaded fries, with options available for vegan and vegetarian guests. With its unique blend of music, community, and hospitality, Crowbar Brisbane stands as a new chapter in the story of one of the city’s most significant cultural spaces.
