Amy Taylor was etched onto the tablet of Australian rock history at a very young age. Front person for three-time ARIA Award winners Amyl and the Sniffers, Amy’s love affair with music has taken her from underage punk mosh pits in Mullumbimby to dominating festival stages around the world.
Renowned for their incendiary live show, Amyl and The Sniffers began their rise to international fame by signing to Rough Trade Records in 2019. In 2021, the band released their critically acclaimed sophomore album Comfort To Me, which debuted at #2 in the ARIA Album Charts, #21 in the UK Album Charts, #2 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart in the USA. It was BBC6 Album of the Day, Triple J Feature Album, and Album of the Week at a host of media outlets globally, and made multiple 2021 ‘Best of’ lists including Rolling Stone, FADER, AllMusic, and Consequence of Sound. Following its release, the band has risen to main stage performances at festivals including Primavera, Glastonbury, Roskilde and Rock En Seine, and embarked on multiple tours across the US, Europe, UK, Mexico, Japan and India.
As a lyricist, performer and low-key fashion icon, Amy is a heady mix of flavours: cutthroat and unapologetic, open-hearted and welcoming. She is down-to-earth, quintessentially Australian, but also ambitious, uninhibited and unlike anyone you’ve ever met. Her mix of tongue-in-cheek poetry, full throttle love songs and raging 21st century frustration has won her an adoring legion of fans and admirers, including Karen O, Peaches, Dave Grohl, Billy Corgan, amongst many many others.
