Nathan May

Nathan May a proud Arabana, Yawuru, and Marridjabin man. He began playing drums at age three in church in Darwin and later studied at CASM in Adelaide. Nathan has worked with Luke O’Shea, Kevin Bennett, Colin Buchanan, and producer James Gillard. He has toured nationally and internationally, including Europe with the Pierce Brothers, and represented his culture at the Festival of Pacific Arts in Hawai’i. His 2024 single “Gonna Meet That Man Someday,” about meeting Barack Obama, was co-written with Gillard and Buchanan. In 2025, he won Emerging Songwriter at the Vanda & Young Global Song Competition.
