Tom Carroll (aka egumei) is a Brisbane-based director and VFX artist creating bold, surreal visuals across music videos and short-form content. Known for crafting cinematic 3D worlds, he blends filmic texture into digital environments with a touch of magic. His distinct style forms a rich, immersive visual harmony, beautifully blurring the boundary between physical and generated spaces.
Music videos are where Tom’s process thrives: a creative playground with total freedom, where he collaborates closely with artists to shape their vision. With roots in cinematography, he produces, directs, and leads post‑production in-house, keeping the process unified and creatively agile.
Tom has worked with artists including Mallrat, Last Dinosaurs, Clea, 1tbsp, Dune Rats, The Rubens, and Eliza & the Delusionals. Earlier this year, his video for Mallrat’s Hocus Pocus won Music Video of the Year at the Queensland Music Awards (QMAs).
