Vicki Gordon leads with fire, disrupts with purpose and builds power from the ground up. From transforming the Australian music industry to championing equity for women and gender diverse artists, Vicki doesn’t wait for permission, she creates new tables where everyone has a seat and a say. Vicki has reframed relationships between gender and leadership in the Arts, shaping the status quo by creating pathways for the next generation of music industry leaders, sharing her story and showing what’s possible when you move first and bring others with you. Vicki commissioned the 4x Helpmann Award winning First Nations Women's Rock Musical Barbara and the Camp Dogs and produced Australia’s first Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Women's Contemporary Music Festival and first training Program for Female DJ's. She independently produced and toured the First Nations female ensembles Singaot Sista to Vanuatu and Barefoot Divas across Australia, NZ, North America and Hawaii selling out the Hong Kong Concert Hall in 2015. She has been integral to the careers of First Nations singer/songwriters Emma Donovan & Ursula Yovich and founded Australian Women in Music Awards (AWMA) in 2018 to address the chronic gender inequality across the entire sector. In 2025 AWMA has seen a 56% increase in nominations.
